Ever wonder why some people keep failing no matter what while the other person always success no matter what the situations are?

What I am trying to say is internet marketing e.g. affiliate marketing, copywriting, list building, email marketing, adsense, selling online, etc. They are just your tools, tools you can use to achieve your end result but if you don’t have the right mindset, no matter how great the tools are, you will not succeed. Remember the saying you can drag the horse to water but you can’t make the horse to drink? It’s similar but it’s different.

Let me explain. I have known this for sometimes already and you probably have too. It’s all about having the right mindset. I am surprised no guru ever talk about this. They bombard you with over after over but they never mention about having a right mindset.

A mindset is your belief, your value on something. It’s sub conscious, usually you wouldn’t realize this. Now relate this mindset to why some people always fail or success, let me give an example, a bad one. There is this average guy, let’s call him John doe. John sub consciusly belive that he’s not capable man and he lacks of self confidence. He doesn’t think that he can do jobs well or he believes trying new things are just not his game. I am 100% sure one of you suffer from this but you don’t realize it or even deny it. I may be harsh with my words but I want you to truly realize this because when you realize it and change it, you are a new person hence new hope = future for you. Back to John doe again, let’s take the example that he’s afraid to try new things, would he even try to make money online? He would rather take 9 to 5 jobs instead. Would he even try to write his own ebook or create a product? His mind would prove him that he’s not capable. Would he even try to focus on one thing instead jumping from opportunity to another? You get this idea, right? If this sounds like you, this is your wake up call.

How to fix my mindset then?

Disclaimer: This is sensitive part. I am trying to  write this as accurately as possible but it is still your responsibility to consult with the experts in this field.

These steps are usually done sub consciously or under hypnosis.

1. Realize and admit that you have this problem. Then find out what your problems are. (consciously).

2.  Re program your mindset with positive words and your end result, basically what ever you want in life. (sub consciously).

The two steps can be broken into few more steps but those are generally what should be done. I don’t have the expertize to tell you what to do to fix your mindset, I am writhing this to wake you with this subject. If you keep failing, check yourself out if your mindset is holding you.

I came to conclusion that having mentors (not one mentor) in my internet marketing venture has become crucial to my chance to succeed online. I am saying this because I used to have an online mentor where we chatted through msn, he told me what to do and reviewed my works.

The result was spectacular from $0 to $800ish first month. When I had a mentor laying out the blueprint then all I needed to do was following the blueprint, you believe your chance will greatly increase? I bet so. This was 2000/2001 by the way. There were no web 2.0, social bookmarking, video squeeze, etc…It was pretty basic HTML, SEO, search engines & directories submissions, and traffic exchange. Don’t laugh, yup, traffic exchange. In fact I had alot of buyers from traffic exchange. This is due to my nature of my offers on the website I was creating. If you yahoo for keyword guaranteed sign ups, my ex website trafficforless.com rank at no 1. It used to hold first page or even top 5 for few more keywords in google and yahoo. I guess yahoo doesn’t change much.  If you want more proof, check out alexa.com and type in the url, it still holds my name after more than 6 years. I sold the website to another guy by the way, he makes a killing nurturing the website till today I belive. Nuff bragging.

My point is get yourself a mentor or mentors, someone who is more successful than you, either it’s in internet marketing, fishing, writing, basketball, etc….Having a mentor will greatly cut your learning curve, trial and error, save your money too eventually.

Where did find my mentor? I was lucky, I didn’t remember how I met him. It was online, I think it was in traffic exchange but I forgot the detail, eventually he was willing to let me copy his website and his offer and he told me how to promote the website. It was exact step by step of what he did.

Currently, I had three mentors for my internet marketing journey. I can’t tell you who they are but there is one who I paid the tuition fee to teach me, there is one who I met at warrior forum, and there is one who indirectly teach me through membership website where I can PM him directly. One of them are making six figures income annually minimu and two of them are making 7 figures, yup, big seven. See the point is, learn from someone better than you, just copy their success, no need to invent the wheels. Internet marketing are pure technical, there are general guidelines that you will need to steps on to succeed. How you heard this kind of words before? I bet you do. I am going to prove it again that above statement is true.

Will it be nice having someone to take your hands and show you the right ways? As long as you do your homework, your success will be around the corner, almost guaranteed. Do you like this idea? Then start to find a mentor to teach you. Show him/her that you are genuine, show them your willingness to learn and do the works. If you can’t find free mentors, find the “paid” ones, as long as the fee is within your budget and they have a good reputation. You should give it ago. Believe me it will make or break you.

One last word for me. You already knew that there are 1001 ways to make money online and with the product/program launches almost everyday. It is hard not to get tempted to try new things. Please don’t do that. Learn from my mistakes, focus on 2 or 3 max. Learn the 2-3 ways inside out and learn from the best in the business of that particular you focus on.

Just my 2 cents.
